The National University of Ostroh Academy is the successor of Ostroh Slavic, Greek and Latin Academy, the first higher educational establishment of the Eastern Slavs.

Students of Ostroh Academy Joined the Global Act of Silence "Angels of Memory"
The Global Act of Silence' Angels of Memory' is a significant annual event held on February 20. It serves as a solemn tribute to the deceased Maidan activists, particularly the 48 protesters who lost their lives on February 20, 2014, in the heart of Kyiv. These individuals, along with 54 other killed and fatally injured activists of the Revolution of Dignity, as well as five Maidan activists who died in the spring of 2014, are collectively known as the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. The 'Angels of Memory' action is a global initiative that aims to honour their memory and the sacrifices they made for the freedom and dignity of the Ukrainian people.

Ostroh Academy Once Again Сonfirms its Status as a Sustainable, Environmentally-Friendly University
According to the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings, which evaluates universities all over the world in terms of environment and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water resources, transportation, environmental education and research, the National University of Ostroh Academy was ranked third out of 25 Ukrainian universities represented in this year's ranking and 448th in the world in general. This year's ranking involved 1477 universities from 95 countries, including 25 Ukrainian universities. This ranking is a significant achievement for Ostroh Academy, as it demonstrates the university's global standing and commitment to environmental sustainability.

Ostroh Academy National University Initiates the Development of an AI Usage Policy
On February 10, 2025, the National University of Ostroh Academy launched a significant initiative to regulate the usage of artificial intelligence technology in educational, scientific, and institutional administration activities. The university's Founding Rector and the Academic Council Chairman, Ihor Pasichnyk, proposed creating a comprehensive university policy on AI usage. Developing such a policy is not just essential, but a crucial step for effectively implementing and regulating AI within the university, covering ethical, legal, and technical aspects.
