Rector’s Assistant for International Cooperation and Fundraising Eduard Balashov took part in the Ukrainian-British conference dedicated to the "Unification Initiative" program

On June 28, Rector’s Assistant for International Cooperation and Fundraising of the National University of Ostroh Academy, professor Eduard Balashov took part in the Ukrainian-British conference dedicated to the “Unification Initiative” program. This program is aimed at developing cooperation between Ukrainian and British universities.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Great Britain Ms. Melinda Simmons and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in Great Britain Mr. Vadym Prystayko took part in the conference. They congratulated the participants of the conference and noted the extreme relevance of this program in modern conditions. Assistant to the President of Ukraine and at the same time a representative of the Presidential Fund for the Support of Education, Science and Sports Ms. Olha Budnyk conveyed the words of welcome and words of support for such an initiative from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

During the conference, strategic issues of initiating cooperation between Ukrainian and British universities, which would be mutually beneficial and useful for both countries, were discussed. Representatives of British universities expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people in the liberation struggle against the invaders and assured the support of Ukrainian scientists. The priority areas of cooperation were determined, as well as the strategic vision of the parties regarding the establishment of long-term cooperation.

More than 200 representatives of higher education institutions of Great Britain and Ukraine took part in the conference. The organizer was the company "Cormack Consultancy Group", with which the Ostroh Academy has established long-term successful cooperation. By the way, it is extremely pleasant to note that Oksana Vavrenchuk, a graduate of the Faculty of International Relations of Ostroh Academy, works at this company.

“As part of the UK-Ukraine Twinning Initiative, the Ostroh Academy is establishing cooperation with the University of St. Andrews, with the Vice-President of which Mr. Brad McKay recently held a meeting. Currently, it is planned to develop and sign a cooperation agreement. We express our gratitude to our colleagues for the enormous support of Ukraine and Ostroh Academy in this difficult time, which we sincerely appreciate. We believe that soon our country will win, and we will have the opportunity to fully develop our cooperation with the University of St. Andrews within the framework of the implementation of the internationalization strategy of the National University of Ostroh Academy”,
