Ostroh Academy took the 2nd place among the Ukrainian HEI’s in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2022

On December 12th, 2022, the IU GreenMetric World University Rankings published a ranking that has ranked universities around the world since 2010 on six indicators: environment and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste management, water resources, transport, environmental education and research. The main focus of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is on the effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and raising the awareness of universities about this process. A record number of institutions of higher education took part in the ranking - 1050 universities from 85 countries all over the world, including 17 Ukrainian universities.

We are pleased to announce that, according to the results of the IU GreenMetric World University Ranking 2022, the National University of Ostroh Academy took the second place out of 17 Ukrainian HEI's presented in this year's ranking, and the 284th place in the world,  risen by more than 100 positions compared to 2021 (in 2021, NaUOA occupied the 389th position).

In particular, Ostroh Academy took the first place in terms of environmental friendliness of the use of vehicles and waste management, ahead of other Ukrainian universities. In terms of facilities and infrastructure, our university took the second place among the Ukrainian HEI's. Among indicators related to the use of water resources, environmental use of energy and climate change, Ostroh Academy ranks the fifth and the sixth in the category of environmental education and research.

The results of this ranking confirmed that Ostroh Academy provides high-level educational services and educates students on environmental consciousness not only at the national but also at the global level. This achievement also demonstrates the contribution of our university staff and students to the provision of quality education, gender equality, peace, justice, environmental friendliness, decent working conditions and economic growth, as well as other Sustainable Development Goals.
