Students of the Ostroh Academy visited the Rivne Oblast Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine

On March 4, the Head of the Department of Public Health of the National University of Ostroh Academy, PhD (in Medical Sciences) Ihor Hushchuk conducted an introductory and practical training for the second year students of the specialty "Public Health" on the basis of the State institution “Rivne Oblast Laboratory Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine”.

During the training, the students found out more about the organization of working process, purpose, main tasks of the Center, and its basic laboratories (bacteriological, virological, sanitary and hygienic, radiological). Moreover, they accomplished practical tasks regarding the phased implementation of the state social and hygienic monitoring at the national, regional, local, and institutional levels in Ukraine.

In addition, students had the opportunity to carry on a conversation with the authorities of the Center, headed by Roman Safonov, as well as with the managers and staff of the laboratories, who told about the main directions of their work.

«I hope that despite the difficult times for the national healthcare system and national security of the state, the enthusiasm of the "fans" of preventive medicine will encourage the future public health professionals, and that they will carry this inspiration throughout their lives, protecting lives and the health of our people,» - empathized Ihor Hushchuk.
