Second All-Ukrainian Contest "Overseas Ukrainians: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow" is finished

The Institute for the Ukrainian Diaspora Studies of NUOA named after Professor Liubomyr Vynar together with the Faculty of International Relations and the Oleksandr Ohloblyn Scientific Society of Students and Doctoral Students that acts on the basis of the faculty organized the Second All-Ukrainian Contest "Overseas Ukrainians: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow ", which lasted from December 26, 2018 until March 5, 2019.
The aim of the competition was to popularize the activities of overseas Ukrainians, to study the prominent representatives of Ukrainians from foreign countries, to preserve the historical memory and national-patriotic education of children and youth. In the event took part students of secondary and higher education institutions.
In total, 110 competitive works from eight regions of Ukraine were submitted for consideration. 42 participants became winners and were awarded with Diplomas, and contestants whose works were distinguished by a creative approach received testimonials.
The works of participants from Polonne primary and secondary general school № 2 (Khmelnytskyi Region), Novoselitska primary and secondary general school (Khmelnytskyi Region), SI Askaniia Nova High School (Kherson Region), SI Chaplynka primary and secondary general school (Kherson Region), Mariupol primary and secondary general school № 19 (Donetsk Region), Kharkiv College of Municipal Institution "Kharkiv Humanitarian Pedagogical Academy" (Kharkiv Region).
«The contest was an incentive not only for scientific research, but also for the formation of a source base for studying the history of overseas Ukrainians. All researches of pupils and students were diverse: scientific works, projects and essays, publications in printed media,» comments Nazar Martyniuk, the head of the Ukrainian Diaspora Studies Section of the Oleksandr Ohloblyn Scientific Society of Students and Doctoral Students.
