"Security Passport of Ukraine", as well as what it should be, was discussed at Ostroh Academy

The discussion of the important socio-economic factors which influence the country’s social and political climate took place at Ostroh Academy on June 14.
"Security Passport of Ukraine: National and Regional Dimensions" is a project aimed at research of the problems of a security nature in different regions of the country.
The project is being implemented by the order of the NGO “Centre for International Security” in partnerships with the National Institute for Strategic Studies (NISS) under the President of Ukraine and the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and IDPs with the financial support of the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine.
The discussion, in which the lecturers and students of the specialties "National Security" and "Political Science" of NUOA were involved, was preceded by the social research conducted by the Center for Research of National Security Issues and its Head, Taras Zhovtenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and National Security.
Valerii Kravchenko, Senior Research Officer of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, and Andrii Karakuts, Senior Research Officer of the National Institute for Strategic Studies, served as the invited experts.
Taras Zhovtenko, Ph.D. in Political Science, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and National Security, and Oleh Sanzharevskyi, Ph.D. in History, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and National Security, served as the experts from the National University of Ostroh Academy.
According to Valerii Kravchenko, the presented project is the quintessence of all Institute activities. It is interdisciplinary, and the representatives from the different sectors of the scientific and research establishment were involved in one’s implementation.
"The determination of our state’s societal resilience and political stability is the main task of the project. Nowadays there are many factors which "undermine" our security and sovereignty. One of the ideas of the project is to prevent the situation which occurred in Eastern Ukraine, understand the current status of our society, and realize whether the existing regional challenges are homogeneous or heterogeneous with respect to the different parts of the state," tells Valerii Kravchenko.
The study was conducted in seven regional centers of Ukraine, and the round-table meetings were organized in the format of discussion with the representatives of the local authorities, law enforcement agencies, and social activists according to the results of the regional stages.
The National Institute for Strategic Studies is subordinated to the President of Ukraine and is a basic scientific and research establishment of the analytical and prognostic accompaniment of the Head of State’s activities. The Institute studies the socio-economic, social and political development of the state by monitoring, holding discussions, and organizing round-table meetings.
