"Convocation-2018", a solemn diploma delivery ceremony for master’s degree graduates, took place at the National University of Ostroh Academy today.
Before being awarded diplomas, all the graduates made the solemn vow of a graduate,
"...before God and all who are present here, with my name and conscience — I promise! To preserve love to my native land throughout my life; to develop and stand for the educational traditions of Ostroh Academy; to serve my people with good faith and fidelity, to give the gained knowledge for their benefit; always to plant the seeds of kindness, wisdom and everlasting values; to serve the truth; to preserve and promote the virtues of Alumni Fraternity and never to smirch the honour of my Alma Mater."
Graduates were congratulated and awarded diplomas by Ihor Pasichnyk, Rector of NUOA, and honorary guests: Roman Vasylyshyn, Protector of the National University of Ostroh Academy, Academician of Ostroh Academic Brotherhood, member of the Supervisory Council of NUOA, Ph.D. in Economics, Honored Economist of Ukraine, Oleksandr Shyker, Mayor of Ostroh, Elijah Morgan, Ph.D. in Economics and Theology (Dr. hab) from Switzerland.
Except for the diplomas and congratulations, the graduates received a musical gift from the participants of the Ostroh International Chamber Music Course: Solomon Markman, who is an Israeli violinist, as well as Esther Abrami, who is a French concert violinist. The students of Ostroh Academy also had their musical gift for the graduates, which was the waltz.
"I am glad that today I can finally call myself a qualified specialist with a master’s degree of Ostroh Academy! Six years of study here were bright and unforgettable! Every lecturer and university staff member made sufficient efforts so that we can be proudly known as the graduates of Ostroh Academy and be a reliable pillar for our country. Alma Mater instilled high moral values in everyone of us and reared highly qualified specialists who know their business, what we are sincerely grateful to her for!" shares her impressions Yuliia Drebot, graduate of the Faculty of Humanities.
The graduates were traditionally congratulated by the enacted characters of the prominent historical figures: Prince Vasyl-Kostiantyn of Ostroh, founder of the Academy, and Princess Halshka of Ostroh, beneficiary of this cultural and educational center.
As a sign of gratitude to Ostroh Academy, the community of the master’s degree graduates gifted their Alma Mater a certificate for the technological refurbishment of the lecture rooms of Ostroh Academy.
Following a good tradition, the graduates headed by the Rector and accompanied by the university deans made a human chain which symbolized a farewell to the Alma Mater, in which the spirit of science and art floats around.
