All-Ukrainian race "Green mile 2018"

On June 1, students of the National University of Ostroh Academy participated in the All-Ukrainian race "Green Mile 2018", held at the university stadium.

At the Ostroh Academy the race took place for the first time. Today, all interested people simultaneously promote healthy lifestyle in all regions of Ukraine, engaging in sports activities on the central streets of cities, towns or parks, stadiums and other places.

“We run a race in order to promote environmental protection by means of physical culture and sports. Also, formation of a healthy lifestyle and the involvement of students in regular physical education and exercise are very important. We pay attention to increasing of motor activity of students and strengthening of their health. We want to further develop physical education and to popularize sports among students of Ukraine due to the elevation of the Olympic values and principles of sport culture as one of the means of human harmonious development in order to create a tolerant society, spread ideas of humanism and cultivate the ideals of patriotism”, commented the Head of the Department of Physical Education, senior lecturer Henadii Ctadnikov.

Students and applicants of the Ostroh Academy ran 1 mile (1609 meters). The winner of the race became the student-to-be Taras Radchenko. His result is 5 minutes and 40 seconds. Also, Yana Zaitseva and Ivan Abramchuk Kurashev received the diplomas for ІІ place and Anhelina Romanukha, Yevhen got diplomas for ІІІ place respectively.
