International Conference on National Security was held in the Ostroh Academy

On June 8, at the National University of Ostroh Academy was held the II International Scientific and Practical Conference on “Education and Science in the Sphere of National Security: Problems and Priorities of Development”. The co-organizers of the conference were the Department of Political Science and National Security of the National University of Ostroh Academy, Scientific Research Institute for Informatics and Law of National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Section of Legal Support of National Security and Defense of National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine and National Academy of Security Service of Ukraine.

The welcoming remarks were made by the Rector of the National University of Ostroh Academy Ihor Pasichnyk, the Rector of National Academy of Security Service of Ukraine Serhii Kudinov and the Head of Scientific Research Institute for Informatics and Law of National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine.

In the conference took part representatives of National Academy of Security Service of Ukraine, National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after B. Khmelnitsky, Ivan Chernyakhovsky National Defense University of Ukraine, Juridical Personnel Training Institute for the Security Service of Ukraine of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Scientific-Research Institute of National Prosecution Academy of Ukraine, and of Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev. Also, in the conference participated cadets of National Academy of Security Service of Ukraine and students of specialty “National Security” of the National University of Ostroh Academy.

During the plenary session, the Cooperation Agreement between the National University of Ostroh Academy and National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after B. Khmelnitsky was solemnly signed up. Under the authority of the Faculty of Political Studies and Information Management, certificates were given to teachers of military training of Ostroh Regional Military Residential Lyceum with Enhanced Military-Physical Training of Rivne Oblast Council.

During the conference the participants worked in two sessions. The first session passed by the name“Development of the National Security System in the Context of Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine”, while the second one was called “Applied problems of ensuring national security: information, legal and educational aspects”.

The attention was focused on important issues of training specialists in the field of national security. In particular, the Head of Ostroh Regional Military Residential Lyceum with Enhanced Military-Physical Training Demian Polishchuk in his report spoke about the educational reserves of staffing of national security. Mykola Romanov gave a speech on subjects and cooperation of higher educational institutions within the training of national security specialists. Serhii Kudinov raised important issues related to the fight against terrorism.

Scientists and members of the services joined the scientific discussion on national security issues, and that gave an opportunity to discuss a huge range of security issues of the "state".

Scientific attention was attracted by the speeches of foreign guests. Thus, a professor of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Lublin, Poland) Mikhal Vyrostkevych shared his understanding of the Polish national security policy. Ao Lan, a teacher of the Xinyang Normal University (Xinyang, People's Republic of China), talked about the social security system provided in China.

Scientific discussions also addressed legal security, security of the information field and its protection, biosafety and biosecurity, and counterterrorism efforts.
