Day of Ukrainian celebrated in Ostroh Academy

A number of events as part of the Day of Ukrainian took place in the National University of Ostroh Academy.
All-Ukrainian Scientific Conference Pressing Issues of the Ukrainian Language and Speech initiated the celebrations last week. Ostroh Academy students and teaching staff also wrote a dictation as a sign of love and respect to the mother tongue.
Theatre studio Slovo performing under the direction of Liubov Cherukha, Lecturer of the Department of Ukrainian, also contributed to the celebrations. They presented staged short plays, recited poetry and sang Ukrainian songs.
Another important cultural event on the occasion of the Day of Ukrainian was the staging of an excerpt from comedy Myna Mazaylo by Mykola Kulish by theatre studio Dyvys on November 9.
On this day, the students were also spreading bands with national symbols and leaflets Let’s Speak Ukrainian with the examples of correct word usage in the most common phrases.
Student brain ring game with the Faculty of Humanities as victors became the final chord of the celebrations.
