Icon exhibition in Ostroh Academy

The exhibition of modern Ukrainian icon-painting has opened in the Art Gallery of Ostroh Academy. The icons exhibited there have been created by Ukrainian and Polish artists and icon painters during the First International Sacral Plein-air in Volhynia Holy Patrons of Poland and Ukraine. Icon as a Source of Inspiration. Their painting style resembles Byzantine traditions, however, there are also other icons painted in the traditions of the 19-20th centuries.
The exhibition opening was attended by Krzysztof Savitsky, Vice-Consul of Poland in Ukraine, Bishop Markiian Trofymiak, ordinary of Lutsk Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church, Yan Buras, Vicar General of Lutsk Diocese, and member of Ukrainian Artists' Association Volodymyr Marchuk.
