The celebration of the Year of Ukrainian Song

The beginning of celebration of The Year of Ukrainian Song in Ostroh Academy was marked by the visit of the group from Rivne Regional Philarmonic. They came to academy with an exclusive concert that was dedicated to the history of Ukrainian song.

Culture and Arts centre of Ostroh Academy closely cooperates with the Rivne Regional Philharmonic and often invites them to different cultural events. This year the administration took the lead on joining the action of Ostroh Academy and supporting the Ukrainian song by the theme party, which was dedicated to its history and present.

During the evening people enjoyed the plays for violin, romances and music to the words of O. Oles, I. Franko, L. Ukrainka and songs, which were set to music of O. Bilash and M. Skorikov. To the students’ attention were suggested performance of instrumental trio "Contrasty", Honored Artist of Ukraine Natalia Faryna, soloists Nikolai Shvydkiv, Svetlana Gukovska and others. The holiday of Ukrainian songs was prepared and conducted by the Honored Artist of Ukraine, actress of conversational genre of Rivne Philharmonic Galina Gryciuk.
