April 29, 2011
Three quarterfinal rounds of the 7th Nationwide Tournament of Young Journalists were held in Ostroh Academy on April, 29. The first day of competition gave the students a lot of emotion, inspiration and invaluable experience.
Jurors and participants shared only positive impressions about the start of the tournament.
Vasyl Byrzul, a member of the jury:
- I am satisfied with the desire of our young colleagues to win the tournament and the atmosphere that dominates in these walls. Contestants tolerantly conduct the debate and discuss the subject. It is felt that the participants possess knowledge, however only at the theoretical level yet. Unfortunately this bit is not enough to skillfully operate certain journalistic categories.
Karina Andriuschenko, member of the team «Royal Press»:
- This day was marked with a lot of memories. My team showed different results, but it is remarkable that our points became better each task and eventually we got the highest score in our group. I liked that the judges commented on their decision about the points. The game was tolerant, rich and powerful. I hope it will be the same interesting in future. It is obvious that tension is growing up, but it only emphasizes that each team is worth winning.
