May 24, 2009
In May, the seminar on the problems of modern Ukraine took place in the town of Olsztyn located in the centre of Warmia and Mazury province (Poland). The Province Council Research Centre organized this event. The scientists from Rivne region were presenting Ukraine on the seminar. In fact, such a representation is due to partnership between Warmia and Mazury province and Rivne region. There are many Ukrainians living on the territory of that province. They have organized their own schools here. Besides, they broadcast Ukrainian programmess over local radio. Noteworthy is the fact that Myron Sych, who comes from Warmia and Mazury province, represents the Ukrainian minority in Polish Seym.
Petro Kraliuk, First Vice-Rector of Ostroh Academy National University, took part in the seminar and delivered the report The Identity of Ukrainian Population. Mr Kraliuk also had a meeting with the Rector of the University of Warmia and Mazury, Józef Górniewicz. During the meeting they discussed the issues concerning collaboration between Ostroh Academy and the University of Warmia and Mazury.
