Ostroh Academy Students Won Again

The students of the College of Political Studies and Information Management of Ostroh Academy National University Mykhailo Mozol and Vadym Tabakera won in the debate on the topic Joining NATO and Esuring Political, Economical and Military Security of Ukraine held on 7 Aplril in Rivne National University of Water Management and

Nature Resources Use. The first similar event was organized by Kyiv Institute of Society Transformation, Rivne National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use with the assistance of the Embassy of Slovakia in Ukraine. The event is aimed at the establishment of the youth club Debate as an integral part of Rivne Centre on Euro-Atlantic Integration and conducting of debates among student groups on the role of NATO in ensuring national secutity of the Ukrainian state.

Four student teams representing Rivne National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use, Ostroh Academy National University and Rivne regional public organization Euro-Atlantic Choice of Ukraine took part in the debate. The results of the two rounds were summed up and the winners were named. The teams performed as government and its opposition, having an opportunity to show their attitude towards Euro-Atlantic future of Ukraine and express their own point of view on the situation an answer the questions.

“Such events are very useful for students, as we have a chance to improve our skills in delievering public speeches, learn to find common thoughts and ideas in contradictory issues. The state benefits as well, because such discussions form objective perception of politicized issues. Tiny details form the unity. We took the first step towards forming the entire objective opinion about Ukraine’s joining NATO”, said Mykhailo Mozol.
