Unconventional Way of Thinking In Ostroh Academy
April 08, 2009
The meeting with an outstanding theoretic physicist, novelist and ex-rector of Lesia Ukrainka Volyn State University Anatolii Svidzynskyi was held in Ostroh Academy National University.
During his meeting with the students Anatolii Svidzynskyi made a presentation of his book Synergetic Cultural Conception. As a theoretic physicist, he had developed a quite original approach to the solution of the problems of culture and civilization; he had also demonstrated an excellent example of unconventional analytical thinking.
Mr Svidzynskyi told about his own course of life to familiarize the students with his thoughts and impetus to studying problems illustrated in his book. Those present at the meeting had a possibility to delve deeply into the history of Soviet repressions through the story of one family, to hear about examples of extraordinary personalities who transcended actual cultural conditions of that time.
This meeting was initiated by Chief Editor of newspaper The Day Larysa Ivshyna, who has been collaboratin with Ostroh Academy National University for many years. Mrs. Ivshyna attended the meeting with Anatolii Svidzynskyi together with the students. She said that she is always very glad to have an opportunity to listen to this outstanding person. “You were lucky to see a Ukrainian man of wisdom”, told Larysa Ivshyna. Also, being a listener this time, she asked Mr. Svidzynskyi for his recommendations for the better way of studying and teaching.
“Our education is being destroyed by formality and disrespect to the freedom of thought”, answered Anatolii Svidzynskyi. But intelligence and ability of analytical thinking are the main priorities in Ostroh Academy. Perhaps because of this he offered Mrs Ivshyna to organize another meeting in autumn and dedicate it to reading the poems by an outstanding poet Volodymyr Svidzynskyi, his uncle.
