The 3rd year students of documentation and information took part in All-Ukrainian Conference The 21st Century Culture and Information Society held in Kharkiv on 23-24 May 2009. The conference was held in honour of the 80th anniversary of Kharkiv State Academy of Culture. Students, postgraduate students, candidates of sciences and professors took part in it.
Different issues in 13 branches of culture and information were discussed during the conference as well as the actual problems of traditions preservation and cultural-economic progress in the conditions of information society formation in Ukraine.
Ostroh Academy students excelled with their great abilities and good knowledge of different subjects. They participated in different sections; seven of them were honoured with diplomas for their participation in Conference.
Other conference participants were surprised by such a good preparation of Ostroh youth. “They called us “Team Ostroh, and asked to participate in this Conference next time,” says the course leader of the 3rd year students of documentation and information Tetiana Darda.
Ostroh Academy fosters the desire for studies, for appreciation of mother tongue, and for work for the welfare of the country. The students are proud of this and never give up their beliefs. The conference organizers were pleasantly surprised that Ostroh students communicated only in Ukrainian.
“The students from different higher educational establishments of all Ukraine took part in this conference. They were surprised that we communicate in our mother tongue, they thanked us for the possibility to hear pure Ukrainian and said that we showed a high level of education and had set an example for their students,” shares her impressions Maria Aleksandruk.
