February 01, 2009
On 31 January Ostroh Academy welcomed university entrants. It was virtually impossible to find a vacant place in 400-seats Ostroh Academy Assembly Hall. “Our educational establishment is not a production line of diplomas, and it explains its popularity. Academy’s spirit is felt here. Comparatively little number of students, around three thousand, prove that only the best of the best are studying here”, commented on the situation Vice-Rector For Studies And Scholarly Activities, professor Petro Kraliuk.
Rector of Ostroh Academy National University, professor Ihor Pasichnyk, Vice-Rector For Studies And Scholarly Activities, professor Petro Kraliuk, Executive Secretary of the entrance commission Halyna Pastushok told university entrants and their parents about history and present of the University, main tendencies of educational process and peculiarities of 2009 entrance campaign. Later the documentary about Ostroh Academy “Academy Spirit of Science” was shown.
The entrants had a chance to take a qualifying test in the Ukrainian language and literature, English, history of Ukraine and math. They could visit Practical Psychologist Workshop and take part in trainings on the development of confidence (titled I Can), on the development of goal setting ability (My Goal Is My Success), and I Choose My Profession. “Participation in such trainings is crucial, since they develop future students’ self-assurance essential in choosing future profession and educational establishment”, shared her thoughts Ivanna Kydiuk.
The tour around the museum of Ostroh Academy and acquaintance with the resource base of the university were also organized for entrants and their parents.
The next open day at Ostroh Academy will take place on April 4, where university entrants will be able to learn more about colleges and study programmes at the University.
