Taras Zakydalskyi Commemoration

On 18 January a lecture in memory of Taras Zakydalskyi, an outstanding Ukrainian scholar, philosopher, public figure and great friend of Ostroh Academy, was read in Ostroh Academy National University.
Most of his life Taras Zakydalskyi spent in Canada though being a great patriot of Ukraine. His concern was the problems in education and therefore he tried to support Ukrainian universities. He had a special attitude towards Ostroh Academy; he lectured here and founded the Danylo Zakydalskyi scholarship, named after his father.
The lecture was a small commemoration and appreciation of the person whose life was the example of nobleness and dedication. To share their memories about Mr Zakydalskyi, Rector Ihor Pasichnyk, Professor Valerii Polkovskyi, the Head of Ostroh Academy Institute of Ukrainian Diaspora Studies Alla Atamanenko and the Dean of the College of Romance and Germanic Languages Svitlana Novoseletska participated in the discussions.
In conclusion, Ihor Pasichnyk announced the initiation of the new scholarship, Taras Zakydalskyi Scholarship.
