The blues band form UK Julian Thomas and Friends performed in Ostroh Academy National University dedicating it to the orthodox holiday of the Intercession of the Mother of God. This visit was organized within the framework of all-Ukrainian tour to support the new album of the band, Making Waves.
Besides the concert the band of three British musicians and one musician from Lutsk had a meeting with OANU students and took a sightseeing tour around Ostroh.
Next day Julian Thomas and Friends gave a master class of music improvisations and together with the audience they wrote a new song at the meeting. Answering the question about their choice of the music, the band answered, “The music chose us”.
According to Steve Natter, who plays contrabass, Ostroh impressed him the most from among the cities and towns the band had already visited in the tour. As the other members of the band said, the Ukrainian audience is sincere and open comparing to the British one, and what is more, Ostroh students express Great interest and share their inspiration with the musicians.
