Anatolii Krylovets Received Blahovist Award

Anatolii Krylovets, associate professor, Candidate of Philology, Chair of the Department of Ukrainian of Ostroh Academy National University proposed by Rivne Society of Writers won the Blagovist-2007 literary contest for the best poetic collection Moia Vselenska Vypadkovist (My Universal Fortuity).
The National Society of Ukrainian Writers established this literary award in 1993. Dedicated to the Annunciation, it is awarded in five nominations: for the best poetic book, prose book, critical and literary articles, essay on ethnology and for the author’s debut.
“This is my first prize, if not to take into consideration the summons to district attorney’s office in 1990 for the ironic poem Kyiv. Pershotravnevyi pokhoron 1986. ( Kyiv. The Funeral On 1 May 1986” (laughs). That is why the award warms me up not financially. I’m pleased to receive the laureate diploma, since the title of the Contest translated from Greek as “good news”, especially, when before you were looked askance at and your poetry was being called brutal,” told Anatolii Krylovets.
