Exchange Programmes Participants Meet Canada World Youth Manager
February 15, 2008
Last week Second Secretary of the Embassy of Canada Tamara Romas-Figol and Canada World Youth Manager Colin Dirr visited Ostroh Academy National University. Their aim was to meet the participants of the two exchange programmes who now live in Ostroh and Netishyn (Khmelnytskyi region) in the course of the second phase of these programmes. Canadian and Ukrainian participants prepared their presentation for the meeting to share their experience in the programmes, to tell about the unique possibilities CWY gave them, and their own achievements and concerns. The discussion was accompanied by an exhibition and a slideshow.
“This programme is extremely important and necessary, especially in your age”, addressed the youth Tamara Romas-Figol. “It gives you the opportunity to gain priceless experience and learn your own lessons”. Unlike Mrs Romas-Figol, who visited Ostroh only for a day, Colin Dirr devoted more of his time to communication with the participants as his visit to Ukraine lasted from 11 February to 18 February. According to the Head of the Department for Foreign Relations of Ostroh Academy Eduard Balashov, OA Rector Ihor Pasichyk and Colin Dirr reached an agreement on cooperation for the next year and discussed the possibility of college study certification for EP participants within the Project in Community Development and Cross-Cultural Relations.
