Ostroh Academy Relies On the Support of the President of Ukraine. Commemorating Vasyl-Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi

On 14 February the solemn Commemoration Readings in memory of Prince Vasyl-Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi were held at Ostroh Academy National University.
During the readings, Ostroh Academy Rector Ihor Pasichnyk expressed his expectation that such readings would be held on the national level and would be supported by the President’s Decree.
According to the Vice-Rector for studies and scholarly activities, Member of the National Writers Association of Ukraine, professor Petro Kraliuk, Vasyl-Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi created a basis which later served for the development of the Ukrainian Nation and State.
To commemorate the notorious statesman and protector of Orthodox Church, the representatives of Ukrainian clergy arrived at Ostroh and held a dirge in Student and Teachers Church of Fedir Ostrozkyi. Among them were Metropolitan of Rivne and Ostroh Ievsevii, Bishop of Lutsk and Volyn Mykhail, Rector of Kyiv Academy for Clergy archbishop Dymytrii who brought blessing and greetings from Patriarch of Kyiv and all Rus-Ukraine Filaret and presented Ostroh Academy with two portraits of Prince Vasyl-Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi.
Rector’s office has prepared the project of the President’s Decree about the memorial commemoration on the national level and handed it to the President’s Secretariat.
