Ostroh Academy Publications Presented At Specialized Fair Education-2008

Ostroh Academy National University presented new publications and publishing projects (within the framework of the specialized fair Education-2008, held in Lviv on 8-10 May). The visitors of the fair had an opportunity to see the books and to speak with their authors.

On 8 May, Chair of the Department of Theology, professor, translator and compiler of Ostroh Bible reverend Rafail Torkoniak told about his new original project Comparison of the Editions of Ostroh and Elizabethan Bibles with the Provision of the Original Greek and Latin Sources. “Ostroh Bible is the source of life giving spiritual energy. We are glad to have such an edition and we have to value it,” shared his impressions famous stage director Roman Viktiuk.

The presentation of the book by a poet, prose writer, philologist, translator, essay writer, member of Bu-Ba-Bu literary group Viktor Neborak ¬AG and Other Stuff (Essays, Popular Critics, Discourse) took place in the evening of the same day. Besides, the visitors had an opportunity to dispute with the writer about the state, problems and prospects of modern Ukrainian literature.

The monograph of the Vice-Rector of OANU, professor, member of the National Association of Ukrainian Writers Petro Kraliuk, PhD,was presented on 10 May. The book Meletii Smotrytskyi and Ukrainian Spiritual and Cultural Renaissance of the End of 16th – beginning of 17th Centuries is dedicated to the 452nd anniversary of the famous Ukrainian enlightener, Ostroh Academy graduate Meletii Smotrytskyi.

The publications of the Institute of Ukrainian Diaspora Studies functioning in Ostroh Academy were also presented at the fair.

The organizers of the specialized fair Education-2008 commended Ostroh Academy National University for active participation and presentation of the achievements and directions of modern science.
