Resolving Problems of Diaspora Studies

Ostroh Academy National University hosted a three-day 3rd International Conference Ukrainian Diaspora: Research Problems.
The conference was initiated by The Institute of Ukrainian Diaspora Studies, Ukrainian Historical Association, Ukrainian-American Professors’ Association, and World Scientific Council of World Congress of Ukrainians.
The conference was officially opened on 9 September. “Everyone who participated in organizing such a large-scale event in our university should be proud of it. I greatly appreciate the work of scholars who study Ukrainian Diaspora,” greeted the participants Rector of OANU, Ihor Pasichnyk.
Among the participant of the conference were Director of the Institute of Ukrainian Diaspora Studies, Chair of the Department of Ukrainian Diaspora History, candidate of historical sciences, senior lecturer Alla Atamanenko; the representative of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women Organisations (Somerdale, USA) Natalia Danylenko; Doctor of Philology, member of the National Science Academy of Ukraine, Head of the Slovakia Ukrainian Association Mykola Mushynka; Doctor of Sociology, Chair of the Department of Sociology of I.I. Mechnikov Odessa National University Vitalii Onyschuk; professor, Vice-Rector for Teaching and Scholarly Activities of Ostroh Academy National University Petro Kraliuk.
The students, post-graduates and scholars from Ukraine and abroad participated in different sections.
The round table discussion Topical Issues of Scientific Study of Diaspora and Teaching Courses of Diaspora Studies In Ukrainian Universities closed the meeting on 10 September.
