"Today, we have a meeting with Marek Ziulkovskyi - a unique personality involved in the revival of Ostroh Academy. He was the first of the ambassadors of foreign countries to come to our university. It was Mr. Marek who put a lot of effort into the implementation of the Canadian-Polish-Ukrainian exchange programme based on Ostroh Academy. He is the only foreign diplomat awarded the "Prince Vasyl-Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi" Silver Medal for his significant contribution to the revival and development of the university. Marek Ziulkovskyi is a person who has done a lot to establish real friendly relations between Ukraine and Poland. I am sincerely delighted that you have a wonderful opportunity to communicate with such an outstanding personality,"
During the meeting, Marek Ziulkovskyi told the students about diplomacy in international relations, the concept of climate security, environmental policy and its impact on global business, and the relationship between economic interests and ecological challenges facing the world.
"I am thrilled that 20 years ago, I received the "Prince Vasyl-Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi" Silver Medal. It is a great honour for me. Today, I sincerely thank you for the opportunity to hold a lecture at Ostroh Academy and for the memories that will stay with me forever,"
During the meeting, the students asked Marek Ziulkovskyi several questions. The strategic approaches of corporations for integrating economic standards, Ukrainian-Polish relations, problems of countries at the national level during the transition to "green" reform, etc., were discussed.
Doctor of Science (Psychology), Professor, Assistant Rector for International Cooperation and Fundraising, Eduard Balashov, summarised:
"I am happy for the students of Ostroh Academy, who have unique opportunities to communicate with extraordinary personalities of our time, such as Mr Marek Ziulkovskyi, a well-known Polish diplomat. Mr Ziulkovskyi is a long-time friend of our university and will continue to support its revival because, in the next academic semester, he will revisit us with a series of lectures, the topics of which are related to the peculiarities of diplomatic work. I am proud of the students of the Ostroh Academy who, during such meetings, demonstrate a high level of theoretical knowledge, ask thoughtful questions on current topics and engage in discussions with lecturers. Undoubtedly, such meetings add enormous practical value to the educational process and contribute to the internationalisation of our university."
Viktoriia Davydiv, a 4th-year student of the "Country Studies" Educational Programme, and Oleksandra Lavryniuk, a 2nd-year student of the "Law" Programme, shared impressions from the meeting.
"Meetings with ambassadors of different countries are essential. Marek Ziulkovskyi is a person who has extensive experience in the field of international relations, and it inspires. In addition, the combination of ecology and international business topics is very relevant. It explains many interesting things for people from various fields of activity. Therefore, I am sure that such a meeting was useful for all students of the Ostroh Academy,"
"Such lectures are important because students uncover many aspects, such as educational, motivational, practical, communication, intercultural, etc. Such meetings are precious because they contribute to the comprehensive development of students, help them expand their horizons, find new ways to achieve success, as well as prospects for international cooperation and career growth,"
