Intensifying Cooperation: Ostroh Academy and Radovel Biotechnological Lyceum Launch Educational Project
March 19, 2024
On March 19, the National University of Ostroh Academy and the Radovel Biotechnological Lyceum launched an educational project to establish cooperation between academic institutions through further student internships and research possibilities for the university lecturers at the Lyceum.
During the visit, the representatives of Ostroh Academy also talked to Mykhailo Veselskyi, a patron of the NaUOA, Honorary Doctor of the NaUOA, Ukrainian businessman, public figure, philanthropist, head of the Radovel Charitable Foundation, and member of the Supervisory Board of the Radovel Biotechnological Lyceum.
Oleksandr Novoseletskyi, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Candidate of Sciences (Economics), Associate Professor noted:
"The main purpose of our visit was to discuss and define real steps to share the values instilled in students at Ostroh Academy with Lyceum pupils. Our educational institutions' approaches to educating young people have much in common. They are based on fostering a sense of dignity, integrity, and the ability to think critically. The results of such interaction are fundamental for the further development of education in Ukraine and the formation of a new generation of conscious and creative citizens."
Maksym Karpovets, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Social and Humanitarian Management, PhD, Associate Professor, remarked that Mykhailo Veselskyi's educational project has absorbed the best world and national achievements and is entirely new, unusual in our school education, and is based on the harmonious development of a child – healthy, happy, intelligent, and not devoid of a clear patriotic position.
"Our team is delighted with the scale and quality of its implementation. These values align with those of Ostroh Academy, which, based on tradition, tries to create innovative, often experimental projects. That is why it is important for us to complement each other in understanding, developing, and implementing educational practices that would strengthen what has already been achieved and open new doors for the development of primary, secondary, and higher education as the basis for the formation of modern Ukrainians with the best human virtues. To do this, we will engage students of our educational programmes in primary education, psychology, and Ukrainian language majors as carriers of innovations, as well as lecturers who will be able to describe and implement our ideas scientifically."
Nazariy Ivakhiv, a 3rd-year student of the History and Archaeology Educational Programme, commented:
"First of all, Ostroh Academy provides many opportunities for its students. One of these for me was Mykhailo Veselskyi's project, the Radovel Biotechnological Lyceum. Modern primary and secondary education needs to be modernised and changed to ensure that a child is motivated to learn and that schools support the talents of their students. I believe that the lyceum in Radovel and its philosophy will be a model for new Ukrainian school education."
