The Faculty of Romance and Germanic Languages celebrated its 11th anniversary

The celebrations of the week of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Languages began on the 30 January with the traditional opening ceremony. The first day of the week, full of social, cultural and educational activities, featured the mentioning of important achievements of the lecturers and students that have glorified the Faculty in Ostroh Academy, in Ukraine and abroad. Therefore, the names of successful people appeared in the Guinness Book of the Faculty. “The Faculty is unique. Sincere and intelligent young people notable for their extreme diligence study here,” said Ihor Pasichnyk, Rector of the National University of Ostroh Academy, during his greeting. On the occasion of the eleventh anniversary of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Languages, Ostroh Academy administration has allocated additional funds for the purchase of modern textbooks.

On the second day, everybody at the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Languages changed their style and created themselves some extravagant and startling looks. Viktor Artemenko, Head of the Student Brotherhood, takes part in the annual actions of the week of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Languages. This year, he also joined the action Change Your Image.

During the week, everyone had a chance to taste traditional dishes of English and German cuisine as well as dishes of Spain, Poland and France. The students have organized an exhibition of photographs on different themes. The 2nd phase of the All-Ukrainian Student Contest in English, the translation contest and the 4th All-Ukrainian Student Conference Linguistic and Sociocultural Aspects of Communication were also carried out during the week of the Faculty. The organizers created festive mood during the Coffee House party, during the film night, grand concerts, the corporate party and art shows dedicated to the Days of German and French. The musical titled Live Life to The Full became a symbolic point in the cultural and entertainment programme of the week.

The events of the last day of the week were dedicated to the French language and culture, in particular, to the presentation of Ostroh Academy - Rennes 2 exchange programme. The final and the largest event of the week of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Languages was Ostroh Ball annually attended by the students from different faculties of Ostroh Academy and guests from other universities.
